Exciting News - The Guardian reports on the latest evidence on the Rice Portrait.

The Rice Portrait of Jane Austen
At last, the exciting news about the Rice portrait has broken, and I'm so thrilled to share it with you. As reported in this morning's Guardian newspaper, new evidence has come to light of writing discovered on the painting. Using a method of digital enhancement on photographic glass plates of the painting from 1910, the words Jane Austen and the artist's name, Ozias Humphry, have been revealed. You can read all about it here! I've seen the images for myself, and they are amazing!!!

It is wonderful to have some good news to share - I've not been very well lately, and unable to blog very much, but I'm on the mend and hope to be back to normal very soon.

There's a new link on the Rice Portrait website with pictures and the fascinating story behind the new discovery! Read it here!
